Welcome to the official website for White Noise Meditation.  If you are new to the concept of binaural beat brainwave entrainment, read on and I will explain the power of this incredible technology and how it is used.

Brainwave entrainment is produced by listening to two slightly different tones through headphones (so that the audio frequencies go to the appropriate ear).  It can take up to about 5 minutes of exposure to the binaural beats for the human brain to begin following the frequency of the beats.  This means that if you are listening to a 3 Hz Delta binaural beat encoded recording, your Delta brainwaves will become stronger.  Since Delta brainwaves are associated with sleep, you should become drowsy as your brain "follows" or becomes "entrained" with the binaural beats.

Other frequencies can produce different effects.  There is a table below that shows some of the uses for different frequencies.  On the download page you can get free binaural beat mp3 audio samples and binaural beat videos for your iPod, iPhone or iPad.  Remember to use headphones for the binaural beat effect!

Useful Frequencies for Binaural Beats (Brainwave Entrainment)

Delta (1 - 3 Hz) brainwave tracks to relieve insomnia, improve sleep or for deep meditation.  Also works well for a "Power Nap"!

Theta (4 -7 Hz) brainwave tracks to induce relaxation, lower stress and to help bring "focus" to your life.  The best frequency range for most levels of meditation.

Alpha (8 -12 Hz) brainwave tracks are great for increasing your creative abilities, lowering anxiety, improving your memory and enhancing your concentration!

Beta (13 - 40 Hz) binaural beat encoded audio is great for alertness and increased cognitive abilities.

White Noise/Pink Noise and Why it's Important
Some binaural beat recordings use only one frequency at a time as the carrier for the binaural beat.  This may work for some people but it will ultimately not give the maximum effect as every person is different and some frequencies work better than others.  In fact, sex plays a role as well as women respond to different frequencies than men.  All of our recordings use White or Pink Noise to carry the binaural beats which means that anyone who listens will receive the most effective combination of audio frequencies for them because White and Pink Noise is made up of all the possible frequencies that can be heard by the human ear.

What You Need
Any MP3 player such as the Apple iPod is ideal for listening to binaural beat encoded audio although a cd player or your computer with stereo headphones will work great as well.  Listening through stereo speakers will give you a sub-optimal session with possibly no effect whatsoever.  The reason being that for binaural beats to be heard properly, the slight difference in frequencies need to be isolated to each ear individually.  Speakers in an open room can have "cross-talk" and the seperate channels will mix, preventing the binaural beat from being created.

"White Noise Meditation" albums are composed of the sounds of waterfalls, ocean waves, thundering rainstorms or relaxing music each with a background of pink noise encoded with the incredible binaural beat technology.

* IMPORTANT!  ALL OF OUR BINAURAL BEAT TRACKS REQUIRE STEREO HEADPHONES OR EARBUDS FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS.  PLEASE DO NOT USE WHILE DRIVING OR OPERATING MACHINERY!
